Regular Season Round 9: Hiroshima D. - Ryukyu GK 80-73

The biggest surprise took place in Hiroshima where host Hiroshima D. (7-2) beat league's leader Ryukyu GK (7-2) 80-73 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Hiroshima D.'s coach Kyle Milling used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hiroshima D. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK will play next round against Shiga L-Stars trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hiroshima D. will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Chiba Jets on the road.
