Navy clinch title - Apr 5, 2012

Bangladesh Navy emerged as the champions of the Citycell Independence Day Basketball Tournament 2012 beating Bangladesh Army 60-57 in a very competitive final at the Dhanmondi Indoor Basketball Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Army led the first half 28-23, but Navy came back to the game brilliantly after the resumption to win the match.

Navys Mithun Bishwas was the highest scorer with 27 points while his teammate Mizan added 13. Mithun Sarkar and Tofazzal caged 16 and 13 points respectively for the Army.

State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Capt (Retd) AB Tajul Islam was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and the minister distributed the prizes among the winners.

Suman Bhattacharjee, human resources director of Citycell, attended the programme as a special guest while Taslim Ahmed, head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations, and officials of Bangladesh Basketball Federation were also present on the occasion.

BAF and IAF Friendly Basketball match held - 3 Years ago
A friendly Basketball match between Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and Indian Air Force (IAF) held at the basketball ground of Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu on Thursday. Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bangabandhu Air Commodore M Mafidur Rahman witnessed the final match as Chief Guest and later, distributed prizes among the winners.
