Al Salam (SBL) signed experienced 35-year old American forward Alex Young (198cm-96kg-1989, college: IUPUI) for upcoming 2025-26 season. Young played last season at Al-Hala in Bahrain Premier League.
He was voted to Israeli League All-Star Game back in 2015 and 2018.
The previous (2023-24) season he played at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL where in 5 games he had 10.0ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.6apg in that year.
He is quite experienced player. He has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). Young has played previously professionally in China (Beijing), France (Champagne), Israel (Hapoel Gilboa Galil and Ironi Nahariya), Italy (Orlandina and Basket Barcellona), Qatar (Al Ahli Sports Club Doha), Russia (Enisey), Egypt (Al Ahly Cairo), United Arab Emirates (Al Sharjah) and The Basketball Tournament (Armored Athlete and Midwest Dream).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Al Salam.
He graduated from Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ-Indianapolis in 2012 and it will be his 14th (!!!) season as a professional player. Young was selected to Israeli League All-Star Game back in 2015 and 2018.
