Al-Muharraq lands Keron DeShields, ex Al Ittihad

Al-Muharraq (Premier League) tabbed 32-year old American 190cm point guard Keron DeShields (college: Tennessee State, agency: Diamond Sports) for the rest of current season. DeShields played last season at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 11 SBL games he had very impressive stats: 21.9ppg, 5.0rpg, 7.7apg (leader !!!) and 2.0spg (in top 3). DeShields helped them to win the league title. 2024-25 was a great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Second Team. He also played 13 games in West Asia Super League where he recorded also remarkable stats: 23.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 7.2apg and 1.7spg. DeShields contributed to his team making it to the group final. The other team he played shortly was Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion in Israeli National League. In 6 games he averaged high stats: 19.7ppg, 3.5rpg and 7.8apg.
He is quite experienced player. DeShields has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Comunicaciones), Greece (Rethymno), Hungary (Debreceni Egyetem and Jaszbereny KSE), Italy (Latina and San Severo), Lithuania (Siauliai), Venezuela (Trotamundos and DeShieldsroes), Israel (Ramat Gan, Next Urban Maccabi Haifa, Afula and Hapoel Hevel Modi'in) and Dominican Republic (Metros).
He graduated from Tennessee State in 2016 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player. He played also for University of Montana for 3 years.
