Al Salam inks Ashford Golden, ex Al-Najma

Ashford Golden

Al Salam (SBL) agreed terms with 29-year old American guard Ashford Golden (195cm-83kg-1995, college: MACU). He started the season at Al-Najma in Bahrain Premier League.
Part of last season he spent at Al Karkh (Superleague) in Iraqi league where in 8 games he had very impressive stats: 25.4ppg, 5.5rpg and 3.8apg. He also played for Al Yarmook (D1) in Kuwaiti league.
Golden is quite experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Golden has played previously professionally in Chile (Puerto Varas), France (Hyeres-Toulon), Iraq (Al Naft), Kuwait, Lebanon (Homentmen), Portugal (Academica) and Venezuela (Brillantes).
Among many awards he won Iraqi League championship title in 2022. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Portuguese League Honorable Mention back in 2021.
Golden is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
He graduated from Mid-America Christian University in 2020 and it is his fifth season as a professional player. Golden played for other colleges like: University of Central Oklahoma, Central Baptist College, Lamar State College.
