BAHRAIN Club posted a convincing 80-65 victory over Isa Town last night as the 2024-25 season in the Zain Bahrain Basketball League got underway at Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam. The victors raced out to a 28-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, going up by as many as 38 points early in the second half. Isa Town, however, reduced the deficit to a respectable 15 points at the final buzzer. Mohamed Salah top scored for Bahrain Club with 18 points, while skipper Mansoor Jaber added 17 and Mohsin Ali had 15. Nooh Qaedi paced Isa Town with 17 points while Hussain Mahdi chipped in with 15.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s other game between Al Ahli and Al Najma needed to be postponed following a lengthy delay before tip-off when one of the rims was damaged during warm-ups. League action continues this evening with a single game on schedule. At 7.30pm, Muharraq take on Al Ettihad in a game between two teams looking to contend this campaign.
