Al-Muharraq (Premier League) signed 32-year old American guard Zach Lofton (193cm-82kg-1993, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) for upcoming 2024-25 season. Lofton joins another USA player Tony Mitchell who is already in the roster.
He played last summer at Sagesse in Lebanese LBL league.
He is quite experienced player. Lofton has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in China (Liaoning Yi Sheng), Germany (Seawolves), Kuwait (Kazma), Philippines (Bolts), Lebanon (Al Riyadi, Homentmen and Dynamo), Libya (Ahly Benghazi), NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold), NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks) and The Basketball Tournament (Panamaniacs). Lofton won Basketball League Asia championship title in 2024 and the cup in 2017 and 2018.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Guard of the Year in 2023.
He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2018 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player. Lofton played for other colleges like: Texas Southern University, University of Minnesota, Illinois State University, San Jacinto College.
