Al-Muharraq (Premier League) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old American power forward Austin Daye (209cm-91kg-1988, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports). Daye played last season at Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro in Italian Serie A. In 11 games he had 7.6ppg and 3.5rpg. He also played for Kings in Taiwanese PLeague+ where in 7 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.7ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.9apg, 1.1spg and 1.6bpg.
In 2009 he was drafted by Detroit Pistons (NBA) in first round (15th overall). Daye graduated from Gonzaga University and it is his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Daye has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem), Russia, Turkey (Galatasaray), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies), Bahrain (Al-Manama), NBA G League (Austin Spurs and College Park SkyHawks) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Challenge ALS and Money Team). His team won WCC Regular Season in 2008 and 2009. Daye was voted to All-WCC Honorable Mention back in 2008 and 2009.
