Al-Muharraq in the Premier League has agreed terms with Julius Coles Jr., an experienced 34-year-old American guard. Coles, who stands at 196cm and weighs 88kg, played for Al Wakrah in the Qatari QBL league last season. Prior to that, he played for various teams, including Al Bataeh in the UAE league (ULB), Ahly Benghazi in the Libyan league (D1), and briefly for Al Morog, another Libyan team in the Libyan league (D1).
He's a highly experienced player, having played in seven different countries across four continents. He's had a taste of the pro basketball life in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. In the past, he played professionally for teams in Bosnia (Siroki), Germany (Schwelm), Kosovo (Prishtina), Morocco (IRT Tanger), Tunisia (US Monastir), and North Macedonia (Lirija). In 2023, his team reached the Qatari Emir Final Four.
The list of past achievements is extensive. In 2022, he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Player of the Year and Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Import Player of the Year.
He graduated from Canisius College in 2012, and this upcoming season will mark his twelfth as a professional player.
