POSTED BY: Ahmad Madwar
In 2012 he was drafted by ? Utah Jazz (NBA) in second round (47th overall). Murphy attended Tennessee Tech University and it is his tenth season in pro basketball. He is a very experienced player. Murphy has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to twelve different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in China (Guangsha Lions, Guangxi and Chongqing), Croatia (Cedevita), France (SIG Strasbourg), Japan (Hitachi SunRockers Tokyo-Shibuya), Philippines (SM Beermen), Qatar (Al Arabi), Turkey (Gaziantep), UAE, NBA G League (Salt Lake City Stars, Stockton Kings and Grand Rapids Gold), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), United Arab Emirates (Shabab Al Ahli) and Libya (Al Morog). Murphy won Bahrain League championship title in 2019. Murphy's game is described as: (by Tyler Ingle for NBADraft.net in 2012) Explosive scorer that possesses a wide offensive skill-set Good length for either wing position Active runner Quick feet Gets himself squared up to the hoop almost instantly Volume shooter. Not a very strong finisher at the rim, due in large part to his slight frame Does most of his scoring outside the paint, so it's hard for him to establish a good scoring rhythm if his shot isn't falling.
