Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Al-Ittihad - Al-Ahli 76-90 The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manama: Al-Ahli (#1) and Al-Ittihad (#8). Al-Ittihad was defeated at home 76-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Al-Ahli (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Al-Ittihad at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Nuwaidrat and Samaheej. Al-Ahli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al-Ittihad will play on the road against Al-Hala (#4) in Muharraq and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win. Bahrain Club - Samaheej 88-70 There was a minor upset in Manama where 7th ranked Samaheej (1-3) was defeated by ninth ranked Bahrain Club (2-3) 88-70 on Wednesday. Bahrain Club moved-up to sixth place. Loser Samaheej keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Al-Ittihad and Nuwaidrat. Bahrain Club will meet league's second-placed Al-Muharraq in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samaheej's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manama to the arena Nuwaidrat. Sitra - Nuwaidrat 78-67 Sitra has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Nuwaidrat (1-3) 78-67. Sitra (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. Nuwaidrat at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Al-Ittihad and Samaheej. Sitra will play against higher ranked Al-Najma (#3) in Manama in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nuwaidrat's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Samaheej. Issa Town - Al-Hala 107-115 Bottom-ranked Issa Town (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Al-Hala (3-2) 115-107 on Thursday evening. Al-Hala moved-up to fourth place. Issa Town lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Al-Hala will meet at home Al-Ittihad (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Issa Town will play against Al-Manama in Manama and hopes to get finally their first victory. |
