Al-Ittihad Manama (Premier League) hired experienced 62-year old Serbian coach Dejan Tomic for the new 2021-22 season. It is actually his comeback to Manama as he used to coach here before. Tomic coached last season at Al Morog in the Libyan league.

His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he coached in eight different countries. He has worked in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has coached previously in Cyprus, Kuwait, Morocco (MAS Fez), Qatar, Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal), Singapore, Bahrain (Al-Riffa), and Serbia (Borac Cacak U19 team).

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won Singapore Pro AM SBL League championship title in 2015. Tomic was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Bahrain League Co-Coach of the Year in 2019.
