Bahrainis leave for Arabs clash

THE Bahrain delegation left for Sharjah yesterday to take part in the Fifth Arab Women Clubs Championship starting tomorrow. The delegation is led by by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and head of the BOC Women's Sports Committee Shaikha Hayat bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa. Bahrain will be represented by eight clubs, the UAE 14, Jordan six, Kuwait six, Algeria seven, Oman three, Qatar two, Syria three, Egypt four, Libya three, Saudi Arabia 12, Sudan two, Tunisia two, Iraq one, Morocco one and Lebanon one. Bahrain's delegations includes 109 members. The eight teams representing Bahrain are Riffa (basketball), Ahli Club (volleyball), A'ali Club (table tennis), Bahrain Shooting Club (shooting), Al Hala (fencing), Ahli Club (athletics), Bahrain Karate Centre, (karate) and Bahrain Club (archery). Bahrain shone in the fourth edition of the championship, bagging 28 medals - 12 gold, seven silver and nine bronze.
