Al-Riffa (Premier League) signed 33-year old American power forward Joseph Jones (206-111kg-86, college: Texas A&M). He replaced the another USA player Rickey Young who is already got released from the roster last week.
It is actually Jones' comeback to Riffa as he has played here before. He played last summer at Aguada in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 53 games he had 11.1ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.5apg. Jones helped them to win the league title. A very impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN 3rd Team and League Player of the Week. The last season he was tested by Al-Riffa where in four Premier League games he recorded very remarkable stats: 16.3ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.0apg and 2.3spg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Jones was voted Eurobasket.com All-Balkan League Center of the Year back in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Jones has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Dominican Rep., France (STB Le Havre), Iran (Azad), Israel (Galil Gilboa and Hapoel Jerusalem), Lebanon (Beirut Club), Spain (CB Canarias and Zaragoza), Turkey (Oyak Renault) and Dominican Republic (Metros de Santiago).
Jones attended Texas A&M University until 2008 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
