American-New Zealand Forward Marcel Jones (203-F-85) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Al-Ahli, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 15 rebounds, while his team outclassed Al-Najma (#5, 1-3) with 30-point margin 111-81. Al-Ahli is placed at 2nd position in their group in Bahrain Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this stage. Al-Ahli will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 81.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al-Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. Former Oregon State University star has very solid stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (3rd best: 27.9ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 17.4rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 64.4% FGP.
