Experienced Naturalized American Center Chester Giles (211-C-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Al-Muharraq and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 33-year old center had a double-double of 34 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Al-Najma (#4, 1-1) 94-85. Al-Muharraq is placed at 2nd position in their group in Bahrain Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this stage. Al-Muharraq will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Giles had a remarkable 65.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Al-Muharraq, being already a very valuable addition to the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old American forward Marcel Jones (203-F-85) of league's best team Al-Ahli. Jones impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 33 points and 20 rebounds. Of course Al-Ahli cruised to a 93-84 relatively comfortable win over Al-Riffa (0-2). His team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won both games so far. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Jones is a newcomer at Al-Ahli and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.3ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 18.1rpg and 3.9apg.

The third best performed player last round was American forward Wayne Chism (206-PF-87) of Al-Manama (#3). Chism showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, eighteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Chism's great performance Al-Manama lost 86-88 to Al-Ittihad (#5, 1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Al-Manama needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Top. Their record is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Chism has a great season in Bahrain. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.3rpg (7th best). Wayne Chism has also Bahrain passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ryan Richards (212-C/F-91) of Al-Hala - 26 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Mansour Kasse (208-C-92) of Sitra - 25 points and 18 rebounds
6. Ahmed Salman) of Isa Town - 38 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Ali Ghadeer) of Al-Ittihad - 29 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Mohamed Kawaid (G-89) of Al-Riffa - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Mile Ilic (215-C-84) of Al-Ittihad - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Hassan Abbas) of Al-Nweidrat - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
