MILE ILIC

34-year old center Mile Ilic (215-C-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Al-Ittihad and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 38 points and 27 rebounds, while his team outclassed Isa Town (#10, 3-7) with 27-point margin 87-60. Al-Ittihad maintains the 5th position in Bahrain league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al-Ittihad will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. In the team's last game Ilic had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al-Ittihad's top player in his first season with the team. Ilic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 22.7ppg) and averages solid 1.9bpg and 56.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Lester Ferguson (208-F-88) of Al-Bahrain. He is American forward in his first season at Al-Bahrain. In the last game Ferguson recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Al-Bahrain lost that game 77-86 to slightly higher-ranked Sitra (#8, 4-6). This loss caused Al-Bahrain to drop to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Ferguson is a newcomer at Al-Bahrain and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 32.1ppg (#1). He also registered 15.7 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Mohamed Buallay (95) of Al-Najma (#6). Buallay showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and eleven assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Al-Najma, leading his team to a 98-51 easy win against Samaheej (#13, 0-10). The chances of Al-Najma ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Buallay could help Al-Najma to bring them higher in the standings. Buallay has a great season in Bahrain. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.9rpg (8th best) and assists with 8.9apg (best passer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Wayne Chism (206-PF-87) of Al-Manama - 29 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Marcel Jones (203-F-85) of Al-Ahli - 25 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Chester Giles (211-C-85) of Al-Muharraq - 19 points and 13 rebounds
7. Yunes Kawaid (F-88) of Al-Riffa - 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Ahmed Aldurazi) of Al-Muharraq - 30 points and 6 assists
9. Hesham Sarhan (F-92) of Al-Ahli - 26 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Kevin Rogers (206-PF-86) of Al-Najma - 20 points

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
