There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Manama. Leader host Al-Manama (7-0) smashed 4th placed Al-Riffa (6-2) 90-44. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al-Riffa. Al-Manama forced 20 Al-Riffa turnovers and outrebounded them 53-30 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Al-Riffa's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Al-Riffa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and international Mohammed Ameer chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Yunes Kawaid (-88) with 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Al-Manama have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Al-Riffa at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Al-Manama's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Ittihad.
Premier League top team - Al-Muharraq (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Al-Nweidrat (1-8) in Nuwaidrat 103-83. Mohamed Aldurazi nailed 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Sean Williams accounted for 9 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Al-Muharraq's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hassan Abbas came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds for Al-Nweidrat in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al-Muharraq. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Al-Nweidrat lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Al-Muharraq will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al-Nweidrat will play on the road against Isa Town (#10) in Issa Town and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best player for the winners was Lester Ferguson who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 18-of-20 shooting from the field). Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Mujtaba Ismaeel who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds. Al-Bahrain moved-up to ninth place. Samaheej lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Al-Bahrain's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Najma.
The game in Muharraq was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Al-Ahli (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Al-Hala (3-5). Al-Ahli defeated Al-Hala 102-91. It was a good game for Hesham Sarhan who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Al-Ahli. They maintain third place with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Al-Muharraq. Al-Hala at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Al-Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama .
An interesting game took place in Sitra where higher ranked Sitra (3-5) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Isa Town (2-6) 99-92 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sitra. Ahmed Salman stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Sitra's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Isa Town moved-up to tenth place. Loser Sitra keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Isa Town will face Al-Nweidrat (#12) in Nuwaidrat in the next round.



Al-Bahrain - Samaheej 121-73

Bottom-ranked Samaheej (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to tenth ranked Al-Bahrain (2-5) 121-73 on Tuesday evening. Al-Bahrain dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 28. They outrebounded Samaheej 44-20 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al-Bahrain looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Lester Ferguson (208-88, college: Robert Morris) who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 18-of-20 shooting from the field). Fadhel Abbas chipped in 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Mujtaba Ismaeel who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and Hussain Busafwan added 19 points and 7 assists respectively. Al-Bahrain moved-up to ninth place. Samaheej lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Al-Bahrain's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Manama Al-Najma.

Hassan Abbas came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Ebrahim Albasri added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Al-Nweidrat in the defeat. Four Al-Nweidrat players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al-Muharraq. They maintain first place with 9-0 record. Al-Nweidrat lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Al-Muharraq will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al-Hala - Al-Ahli 91-102

The game in Muharraq was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Al-Ahli (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Al-Hala (3-5). Al-Ahli defeated Al-Hala 102-91. Al-Ahli made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Thailand power forward Jalen Robinson (206-93, college: Dalton St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and international Hasan Gerashi added 25 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Al-Hala. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Al-Ahli. They maintain third place with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Al-Muharraq. Al-Hala at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. An interesting game took place in Sitra where higher ranked Sitra (3-5) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Isa Town (2-6) 99-92 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sitra. Isa Town made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sitra turnovers. Tunisian Ahmed Salman stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Mansoor Jaber chipped in 31 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). The best for the losing side was Qatari center Mohammad Abdullah (205-82) with 28 points, 9 assists and 5 steals and the former international guard Hussain Taqi (173-78) scored 25 points and 5 assists. Four Sitra players scored in double figures. Sitra's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Isa Town moved-up to tenth place. Loser Sitra keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Isa Town will face Al-Nweidrat (#12) in Nuwaidrat in the next round.
