The round 5 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Premier League top team - Al-Manama (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Isa Town (1-3) 113-55. Al-Manama dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Isa Town's 18. Al-Manama forced 22 Isa Town turnovers and outrebounded them 47-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Isa Town's players. The former international forward Ahmed Ismaeel (203-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Mozamel Ameer contributed with 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Tunisian Ahmed Salman answered with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Isa Town. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Al-Manama have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Al-Muharraq. Isa Town at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Al-Nweidrat. Al-Manama is looking forward to face Al-Riffa (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Isa Town will play against Sitra (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Samaheej is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to eighth ranked Sitra (2-2) 108-66. Senegalese center Mansour Kasse (208-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 27 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Hussain Taqi chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Basel Adel responded with 15 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sitra moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al-Ittihad. Samaheej lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Sitra will play against Isa Town (#10) in Issa Town in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Samaheej will play on the road against Al-Bahrain in Manama and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 5: Al-Najma was smashed by Al-Ahli on the road 103-69. Al-Riffa won against Al-Nweidrat on its own court 78-67. Al-Hala lost to undefeated Al-Muharraq in Al Muharraq 60-94.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 10 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 blocks by Sean Williams of Al-Muharraq.

Al-Ahli - Al-Najma 103-69

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Al-Ahli (4-1) crushed 10th ranked Al-Najma (1-4) in Manama 103-69. Al-Ahli players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Ali Aqeel chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Five Al-Ahli players scored in double figures. International Mohamed Buallay (-95) responded with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al-Ahli. They maintain fourth place with 4-1 record. Al-Najma lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Al-Ahli will play against Al-Hala (#7) in Muharraq in the next round. Al-Najma will have a break next round.
