MARCEL JONES

Experienced American-New Zealand Marcel Jones (203-F-85) had a great game in the last round for Al-Ahli and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 33-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and nineteen rebounds, while his team beat Al-Ittihad (#5, 2-2) 79-69. Al-Ahli is placed at 4th position in Bahrain Premier League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Al-Ahli will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Al-Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. Oregon State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (4th best: 26.7ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 18.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 52.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old Senegalese center Mansour Kasse (208-C-92) of Sitra. Kasse impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 31 rebounds. Of course Sitra cruised to a 69-57 relatively comfortable win over Bahrain Youth (#11, 0-1). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Sitra managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Kasse is a newcomer at Sitra and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Slovenian Sasa Zagorac (206-F/C-84) of Al-Riffa (#3). Zagorac showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Al-Riffa, leading his team to a 106-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Al-Hala (#6, 2-2). Al-Riffa started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Zagorac turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Zagorac has a great season in Bahrain. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.0rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Maitham Jameel) of Al-Manama - 42 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Gavin Thurman (203-F-94) of Isa Town - 37 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ahmed Aldurazi) of Al-Muharraq - 34 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Wayne Chism (206-PF-87) of Al-Manama - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Kevin Rogers (206-PF-86) of Al-Najma - 30 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Mohammed Ameer) of Al-Manama - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Ahmed Hassan (203-F-91) of Al-Nweidrat - 17 points and 11 rebounds

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
