Al Muharraq (Premier League) tabbed 33-year old Australian international center Aleksandar Maric (211-125kg-84, college: Nebraska). He played most recently at Obradoiro in Spanish Liga Endesa. But in 9 games he averaged just 1.6ppg and 2.0rpg last season. Maric also played that season for Kings in Australian NBL where in 28 games he had 5.4ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg.
Among other achievements his team won Adriatic League Regular Season in 2016. Maric received also Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League 3rd Team award in 2016.
He has been also a member of Australian international program for some years. Maric has regularly played for Australian senior team since 2006 and previously for U21 National Team between 2004 and 2005.
He also represented Australia at the Olympic Games in London (United Kingdon) five years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 2.5ppg, 2.7rpg.
Maric is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in nine different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Australian and of course North American leagues. Maric has played previously professionally in Greece (Panathinaikos), Iran (Petrochimi), Israel (Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv), Montenegro (Buducnost), Russia (Lokomotiv), Serbia (Partizan), Turkey (Galatasaray), Spain (CB Granada and Gran Canaria) and Australia (Australian Institute Sport).
He attended University of Nebraska until 2008 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
Maric is described as: Already possessing physical size and lower body strength, Alek will work hard in the gym to develop his upper body and his expolosive power.

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most important game of round 3 took place in Al Muharraq where Al-Muharraq beat Al-Ittihad (2-1) 89-82 on Monday night. Al-Muharraq made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game.
