If you are an Indian fan, you would know that the country's performance this year in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) was one of the best yet. With over 60 medals, the country finished in the third place and bagged medals in nearly every department, from shooting to athletics. In fact, such

In fact, such was the performance by the Indian contingent team that it left many awe-inspired. A country with over a billion of population, seems to be finally catching up and showing us the sports talent that they have to offer. Even those who bet on matches with Genting bet didn't see it coming.

However, having said all that, there is this one field that the Indian team didn't live up to expectations - basketball.

India's Common Wealth Games run for basketball though, came to a crashing end with a consecutive three defeats in the group matches against Cameroon, England and Scotland. But that doesn't make Satnam Singh, the basketball player from India disheartened as he has set his eyes on Asian Games and world championships.

Satnam wishes to reach the Asian Games:

India had a disappointing performance in the 2018 Common Wealth Games at Gold Coast Australia. But that is no reason to stop yearning for betterment feels India's ace basketball player Satnam Singh. He has his goals clear and wants to bring the country glory in the soon-to-held in Jakarta Asian Games.

As per Satnam, right now, nothing else matters other than qualifying for the Asian Games. But that's not all, he doesn't want to stay put with the qualifications in the Asian Games but he has also his sights fixed at the world qualifiers as well. With just a month in his hand all he wants to do is get a tactical approach as well as practicing and that is to go through his game recordings from CWG and concentrate on his mistakes. He wants to analyze and identify the points where there are problems with his game and how those can be improved.

CWG loss is not the end of the road:

It was a learning experience in CWG; even with the losses, there was so much to learn and thrive. Satnam describes his experience of meeting some of the pro players and coach from the international circuit such as Australia and America and that was something that will be cherished by him. But this loss has made him draw hopes that the national team is going make it big if they qualify for the Asian Championships.

Satnam is a key player and is probably the shining future of the Indian basketball aspirations. He is the only player who has been roped by America's premier basketball league NBA. He has a strong feeling that India has all the ingredients to shine when it comes to basketball and even with the plans of a pro basketball league in India the future seems to be brighter than ever.

With all the hopes and aspirations lined up for the team and the players who have brought about hope for a country with less scope in Basketball, Satnam is somebody who dreams big.
