China - Kazakhstan 102-75
China completed the semifinal picture at the U16 Asia Championship. They eased past Kazakhstan to set up the clash against Japan in the next round. Hu Jinqiu (208-C-97) stepped up with 29 points and 14 rebounds to pace the winners. China got to rather a slow start. They snatched an 18:14 lead after ten minutes. The gap grew quickly in the second quarter. China dominated in the period to open a 19-point halftime lead 48:29. The margin kept on growing throughout the third term. China cruised to a comfortable 74:50 advantage at the final break. They never looked back coasting to the victory. Zhao Yanhao (195-F-97) had 23 points, while Liu Chunqing finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the win. Alexander Danilchenko (199-C-97) responded with 16 points for Kazakhstan. Zhalgasbek Kadyr and Konstantin Neff chipped in 10 points each in the loss.

Philippines - Iran 79-52
Philippines edge Iran in Tehran at the Quarterfinal Stage of the U16 Asia Championship. Philippines produced a 79:52 win to face Taiwan in the Final. Philippines started the game with a 22-14 lead and added 16-10 run in the second frame. Iran remained alive in the third quarter as they reduced to 57:46. Philippines however dominated the court in the last stanza and increased to final 27 points. Desiderio Andres Paul made the final result in the game as Philippines edge Iran in Tehran at the Quarterfinal Stage. Jose Lorenzo Mendoza (175-PG-98) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Michael Joseph Nieto (188-C-97) poured in 13. Go Jose IV brought 12, whilst Desiderio Andres Paul had 11. Soheil Farhadi Chalabeh (180-G-97) ended up with 26 points and Sheikhi Mobin posted 8. Nasiri Rineh Ali and Baban Barzin notched 4 points each.

Bahrain - Taiwan 67-70
Taiwan escape with the narrow win over Bahrain at the U16 Asia Championship. One of the favorites posted a tough 70:67 win and advanced to the Semifinals. Taiwan easily won the first period 26-12 and added 15-11 run in the second frame. The victory however was not that easy for them. Bahrain dominated the second half in the game and managed to win both quarters. It was enough only to reduce to final 3 points. Hasan Sadiq scored for 69:67 and then Wu Yen-Ju made the final result in the game. Chang Chun-Ting (174-PG-97) top-scored for the winners with 15 points and Tu Ssu-Han (177-G-97) as well as Sun Yung-Cheng (187-SF-97) collected 11 points and 10 rebounds each. Hsu Cheng-Shun ended up with 10 points and Wu Yen-Ju poured in 7. Mohamed Juma (192-F-97) answered with 26 points and 12 rebounds, whilst Hasan Sadiq had 17. Ghazwan Mohamed poured in 12, whilst Baqer Ali and Shakeeb Ali notched 5 apiece.

South Korea - Japan 71-75
Japan grabbed 75:71 win over South Korea and advanced to the Semifinals of the U16 Asia Championship. They needed 17-9 surge in the last stanza to seal the victory. Japan opened the game with a 24-21 lead, but South Korea won the second period. They posted a 24-18 rally for 45:42 halftime advantage. Moreover the latter added 17-16 run in the third period and had 4-point advantage at the end of the third period. Japan however erupted with a 17-9 surge in the last stanza to seal the victory. Hayato Maki (187-F-97) paced all the winners with 25 points and Rui Hachimura (197-C-98) collected 19 points and 25 rebounds. Hiraiwa Gen added 17 points and 13 rebounds, whilst Hayashi Yutaro had 8. Yang Jae Hyuk (191-F-97) and Choi Jaehwa (178-PG-98) delivered 15 points each in a loss. Park Sangkwon nailed 14, while Kwon Hyeokjoon scored 13.

9-12 Place
Syria - Jordan 55-66
Jordan overcame Syria in the classification round for 9th-12th place at the U16 Asia Championship today. Jordan will now take on Malaysia for the 9th overall position. Mohammad Daher (185-SG-97) produced 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the winners. Syria will wrap up their campaign against India. Jordan gained a 20:13 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter. Jordan secured a 33:26 halftime lead. Syria narrowed the distance in the third quarter. They got within 3 points at the final intermission 42:45. Jordan responded with a 21:13 rally in the final frame and secured the winning outcome. Khaled Abuaboud (198-PF-97) notched 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Yaseed Hijazi contributed 12 points for Jordan. Mohammad Hadri (188-C-97) responded with 19 points for Syria. Khalel Khori had 10 points and 17 rebounds in the defeat.

Malaysia - India 82-80 OT
Malaysia celebrated a narrow overtime success over India in the classification round of U16 Asia Championship. Zi Feung Chang (194-C-97) notched 26 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Malaysia will now face Jordan for the ninth overall position. Malaysia ensured a 16:9 lead after ten minutes of action. They stretched the lead in the second frame. Malaysia accounted for a 35:24 halftime advantage. But India turned the tables in the third period. They narrowed the distance to just 3 points. India fired 27 points in the fourth quarter and forced overtime. Malaysia dropped 15 points in the extra frame and escaped with a narrow win at the end. Ting Jun Foo (170-G-97) recorded 18 points, 8 assists and 5 boards for Malaysia. Koon Wei Chong had 16 points in the victory. Mahipal Singh (181-G-97) responded with 26 points for India. Rahul Mehla had 12 points in the loss.

Australia celebrate title in Foshan - 6 months ago
FINAL China - Australia 67-91 Australia celebrate Gold in Foshan. They knocked down hosting China in the title game tonight. Luke Travers (197-G-01) provided 22 points and 8 rebounds for the champions. Wani Swaka (198-F-01) tossed in 21 points in the win. China posted a 23:17 lead after ten minutes.
