Group E
China U16 - Japan U16 115:65
Chinese U16 National Team recorded the sixth straight win at the Asia Championship. They breezed past Japan to claim the top place in Group E of the tournament. They will now face Philippines in the semifinal.
Japan got to a surprisingly good start to the game. They outscored China in the first frame to enjoy a 28:27 lead at the first break. But China showed why they are considered #1 favorite of the championship in the second quarter. They overwhelmed Japan 35:8 to earn a comfortable 26-point lead at the interval. From now on China stayed in charge rolling to another confident win in Johor Bahru.

South Korea U16 - Taiwan U16 71:39
South Korea booked the last spot available at the semifinal stage of the U16 Asia Championship. They held off Taiwan on the final day of the Qualifying Round to reach the semis.
It was the decisive game for both teams but Korea seemed to have readied themselves better. They grabbed the initiative right from the start and slipped past Taiwan to a 31:18 lead at halftime. Taiwan could not change the complexion of the encounter in the second half. They accounted for just 9 points in the third stanza to trail by as many as 28 points entering the fourth frame. South Korea marched to the win at the end.
Changjin Choi scored 16 points and pulled down 6 boards to lead Korea.

Group F
Philippines U16 - Jordan U16 60:45

Philippines paved their way into U16 Asia Championship semifinals. They held of Jordan in the decisive clash in Group F to book the ticket. The first half made it possible for Philippines. They outscored Jordan 17:8 in the opening stanza and maintained the gap in the second frame. Building a 31:18 lead at halftime Philippines managed to keep Jordan at safe distance throughout the rest of the game recording a vital success.
Keifer Isaac Ravena scored 13 points to lead balanced effort. Von Rolfe Pessumal and Roldan Sara had 10 points each in the win. Majdi Al-Ghzawi responded with 18 points for Jordan.

Iran U16 - Syria U16 69:58
Iran recorded the sixth straight win at the U16 Asia Championship. They prevailed against Syria to claim the top spot in Group F of the Qualifying Round of the tournament. Syria remained at the bottom of the ladder at 0-3 record.
The teams looked evenly matched in the first half. Iran secured a narrow 31:30 lead at halftime. The third quarter brought little changes into the game as Iran remained ahead by a single point 43:42. But they managed 26 points in the fourth term and rallied away for good in this one. Soheil Yousefi notched 23 points, 6 boards and 4 assists for Iran. Amir Sedighi contributed 18 points for the winners. Aghyad Rahal came up with 19 points for Syria.

Group G
India U16 - Bahrain U16 58:40

India clinched the top position in Group G of the Qualifying Round at U16 Asia Championship. They held off Bahrain in the final game in the pool to claim the spot. India will now fight against Kazakhstan for the 9th overall place. Bahrain will wrap up their campaign against hosting Malaysia.
Bahrain led by one point 10:9 at the first break. But India gradually took over. They surged ahead in the second frame and posted a 5-point lead at the interval. India kept on pushing and ensured a 14-point lead before the fourth quarter. Bahrain could not recover and had to surrender at the end.
Shyam Sunder nailed 19 points for India. Sukhjeet added 13 points in the win. Subah Husain Hanafi finished with 16 points and 11 boards for Bahrain.

Singapore U16 - Thailand U16 92:52
Singapore finished their campaign in Group G of the U16 Asia Championship with a confident win. They rallied past Thailand to clinch the third spot in the pool. Singapore will now face Kuwait for the 13th overall spot in the tournament. Thailand will take on Saudi Arabia on the final day of the competition.
Singapore gave no chance for their opponents in this one. They exploded with 56 points in the first half avalanching to a 33-point halftime advantage. Singapore loosened the grip in the third frame a bit but finished off their counterparts in the final stanza. Jabez Su scored 27 points for Singapore. Delvin Goh added 17 points for the winners. Sarun Buranachan replied with 18 points for Thailand.

Group H
Kazakhstan U16 - Saudi Arabia U16 64:38

Kazakh U16 selection recorded a comfortable win over Saudi Arabia at the U16 Asia Championship in Malaysia. The victory propelled Kazakhstan to the top spot in Group H. They will now face India for the 9th overall spot at the tournament. Saudi Arabia will look for their first win in Johor Bahru when they take on Thailand on Friday.
Saudi Arabia struggled offensively in this one. They managed just 17 points in the first half trailing by as many as 13 points at halftime. Kazakhstan did not allow their opponents to threaten the margin seriously in the second half and drove to the victory at the end.
Vyacheslav Raguyev notched 15 points for the winners. Roman Morozov had 11 points for Kazakhstan. Ahmed Almukhtar delivered 14 points and 11 boards in the loss.

Saudi Arabia: Ahmed Almukhtar 14+11 boards

Malaysia U16 - Kuwait U16 73:53
Malaysia prevailed against Kuwait at the U16 Asia Championship. The victory ensured the second-place finish for the hosts in Group H. Malaysia will now play against Bahrain for the 11th overall position. Kuwait will face Singapore in the final game at the tournament.
Kuwait got to the better start to the game as they enjoyed a 4-point lead at halftime. But Malaysia used a 27:9 rally in the third quarter to clear off for good in this one. Yen Yee Fong exploded with game-high 30 points to pace Malaysia. Shee Weng Loh contributed 14 points for the winners. Mashari Abu Dhom answered with 17 points for Kuwait. Hussain Shuaib netted 15 points and made 8 steals for Kuwait.

Australia celebrate title in Foshan - 6 months ago
FINAL China - Australia 67-91 Australia celebrate Gold in Foshan. They knocked down hosting China in the title game tonight. Luke Travers (197-G-01) provided 22 points and 8 rebounds for the champions. Wani Swaka (198-F-01) tossed in 21 points in the win. China posted a 23:17 lead after ten minutes. But Australia responded with a 21:11 rally in the second term to surge ahead. Australia unloaded 53 points in the second half and rallied to the win.
