At the conclusion of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 East Inter-Subzone Qualifications, Pauian Archiland (TPE) and Mono Vampire Basketball Club (THA) claim the two available tickets to the Final 8 round of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup.
Pauian Archiland secured their qualification earlier when they completed a sweep through the tournament. The Chinese-Taipei champions beat Pelita Jaya in the opening game 79-55 before shocking the host nation with a 100-88 take down. This marks a return for Pauian to the FIBA Asia Champions Cup after a 6th place finish in 2016.
Mono Vampire had to wait till the final day of the competition to lock their advancement to the final round by beating Pelita Jaya 78-50. The Thailand champions make a second consecutive trip to the FIBA Asia Champions Cup after a dark horse run to 6th place last year.
Pauian and Mono Vampire are now among the eight teams in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2018 also including a team from China, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and two more teams that will qualify from West Asia. The FIBA Asia Champions Cup will be held from 25-30 September in China.
