Group APilipinas - Seraeyett 82-89Seraeyett Ramallah claimed the first victory in Chenzhou as they rallied past Chooks-To-Go. Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-F/G-87, college: Minnesota) scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win. Seraeyett recorded a 41:33 halftime lead. The Ramallah team boosted the gap at 10-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. Pilipinas drained 28 points in the final period but could not avoid the loss. Tony Weeden (183-SG-83, college: Chicago St., agency: 3Eye) topscored with 22 points for the winners. Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-G/F-93) answered with 24 points for Chooks-To-Go. Petrochimi - Astana 65-66 Astana recorded the first victory at the tournament. They nipped Petrochimi for 1-1 record in Group A. Justin Carter (193-G/F-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 24 points to lead the winners. Petrochimi enjoyed a 39:30 halftime lead. But Astana pulled within 2 points at the final break. They held the Iranian team to just 12 points in the fourth period to snatch the win. Anthony Clemmons (186-PG-94, college: Iowa) had 12 points and 8 boards for Astana. Willie Warren (193-PG-89, college: Oklahoma) responded with 17 points for Petrochimi. Group BAl Riyadi - Ahli Shabab 116-55Al Riyadi coasted past Al Ahli in the opener in Group B. Six players scored in double digits for the Lebanese team. Quincy Douby (190-G-84, college: Rutgers) provided 20 points in the win. Al Riyadi piled up a 61:20 halftime lead. They added 55 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Chris Daniels (200-PF-82, college: Georgia) netted 19 points and collected 12 rebounds in the win. Qais Alshabebi (200-C-91) answered with 26 points and 11 rebounds for Al Ahli. Xinjiang FT - Dacin Tigers 100-94 Xinjiang raced past Dacin Tigers for the second straight win in Group B. Darius Adams (188-PG-89, college: Indianapolis) nailed 31 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and issued 7 assists for the Chinese team. Dacin Tigers posted a 24:20 lead ten minutes into the game. But the Flying Tigers stepped on the gas in the next quarters. They unloaded 80 points in the reminder of the contest and marched to the win. Zirui Wang (190-G-93) had 23 points in the victory. Sim Bhullar (226-C-92, college: N.Mexico St.) replied with 26 points and 14 rebounds for Dacin Tigers. |
