Singapore Slingers conquered the first win in the semifinal series versus Saigon Heat. Singapore S. brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American players dominated the game. Center CJ Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Four Singapore S. players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Evan Gilyard II (178-1998, college: UMKC) responded with 24 points and 5 assists and power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

HK Eastern toppled NS Matrix in the opener. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian center Chris McLaughlin (208, college: Victoria) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. American guard ODarien Bassett (187-1986, college: Troy) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four HK Eastern players scored in double figures. American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import center Amir Williams (211-1992, college: Ohio St.) added 8 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for NS Matrix. NS Matrix's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win.
