Fubon Braves (A-League) tabbed 32-year old Belizean ex-international forward Charles Garcia (208-104kg-88, college: Seattle). It is actually his comeback to Fubon Braves as he has played here before. Garcia has a double citizenship as he also holds Costa Rican passport. Garcia is not a newcomer in Taiwanese League where he played most recently at Pauian in Taiwanese SBL league. In 7 games he averaged impressive 19.6ppg, 11.0rpg and 2.4apg previous season. A-League will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Garcia helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. He also played for Fubon Braves that season. In 17 ASEAN League games he had very remarkable stats: 19.9ppg, 9.2rpg, 2.4apg, 1.0spg and 1.1bpg. He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-ASEAN League 2nd Team and League Player of the Week.
In 2016 (six years after he left the college) Garcia was drafted by Austin Spurs (D-League) in fourth round (79th overall).
The former Seattle University star is in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Garcia has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014. Garcia was a member of Belizean Senior National Team two years ago.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Garcia experienced life in twelve different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Garcia has played previously professionally in Bahrain, Iceland (Grindavik), Japan (Yokohama B-Corsairs), Korea (Seoul Samsung Thunders and Goyang Orions), Mexico (Potros), Philippines (Ginebra Kings), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros), Spain, Turkey, NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce and Fort Wayne Mad Ants), Taiwan (Bank of Taiwan) and D-League (Utah F.).
He won Taiwanese SBL championship title in 2019.
