JERRAN YOUNG

American Jerran Young (198-G-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Singapore S. and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 35 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Singapore S. in his team's victory, helping them to crush Macau (#4, 14-11) with 19-point margin 89-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Singapore S. is placed at 3rd position in ASEAN League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Singapore S. will need more victories to improve their 14-10 record. In the team's last game Young had a remarkable nine three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Singapore S.'s top player in his first season with the team. Jerran Young averages this season 20.1ppg, 7.0rpg and 4.2apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American guard Doug Herring Jr. (191-G-87) of CLS Knights. Herring Jr. impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as CLS Knights lost that game 88-97 to slightly higher-ranked Hong Kong ELL (#5, 14-11). CLS Knights managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 13-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Herring Jr. is a newcomer at CLS Knights and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Michael Bell (206-F-82) of Zhuhai (#10). Bell scored 18 points and grabbed twenty three rebounds (!!!). Despite Bell's great performance Zhuhai lost 88-99 to the higher-ranked Formosa D. (#1, 19-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Zhuhai can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-23 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Bell he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Bell has individually a great season in ASEAN League. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.1rpg (4th best). He also has 1.8bpg and FGP: 54.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tevin Glass (206-F-94) of Formosa D. - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Chen Cai (205-C-93) of Zhuhai - 34 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Maxie Esho (206-F/C-91) of CLS Knights - 21 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
7. O'Darien Bassett (189-G-86) of Hong Kong ELL - 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Ryan Watkins (206-C/F-91) of Macau - 23 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Will Artino (211-C/F-92) of Formosa D. - 21 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Michael Holyfield (211-C-92) of Hong Kong ELL - 12 points and 20 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
