Chen Cai
Chen Cai (205-C-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for Zhuhai and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 25-year old center had the game-high 34 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Zhuhai as his team lost the game against Westports MD (#6, 4-3) 83-89. Zhuhai maintains the 10th position in ASEAN League . The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Zhuhai have already lost 10 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Cai had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Zhuhai's top player in his first season with the team. Chen Cai averages this season 17.7ppg and 7.5rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old American center Kyle Barone (203-C-89) of Saigon H.. Barone impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Saigon H. cruised to a 99-91 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Hong Kong ELL (#8, 4-9). Saigon H.'s 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 8-4 record is not bad at all. Barone is a newcomer at Saigon H. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Renaldo Balkman (203-F-84) of SM Beermen (#4). Balkman scored 27 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Balkman's great performance SM Beermen lost 72-73 to #2 ranked Formosa D.. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing SM Beermen needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Balkman has a great season in ASEAN League. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.4ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 13.0rpg (3rd best). He also has 2.0bpg and FGP: 56.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Maxie Esho (206-F/C-91) of CLS Knights - 25 points and 11 rebounds
5. Michael Singletary (198-F-88) of Mono Vampire - 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Samuel Deguara (223-C-91) of Hong Kong ELL - 18 points and 18 rebounds
7. John Fields (205-F/C-88) of Singapore S. - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Chris Eversley (201-F-91) of Westports MD - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Doug Herring Jr. (191-G-87) of CLS Knights - 9 points, 5 rebounds and 19 assists
10. TreVon Hughes (185-PG-87) of Saigon H. - 29 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
