The Regular Season in ASEAN League just started. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Thailand Mono Vampire (0-1) in Bangkok on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Chinese Macau (1-0) 106-100. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Macau outrebounded Mono Vampire 47-35 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Ryan Watkins (206-91, college: Boise St., agency: Two Points) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 23 rebounds for the winners and guard Anthony Tucker (193-89, college: MSU Moorhead) chipped in 28 points and 11 assists. At the losing side forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds. Mono Vampire's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Macau is looking forward to face Zhuhai (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mono Vampire will play against Singapore Slingers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very significant was Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL's (#3) 32-point road victory against Chinese Zhuhai 107-75. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and Eric Ferguson accounted for 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American power forward Eddy Curry (211-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for Zhuhai in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hong Kong ELL will play against Formosa D. in Changhua City in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zhuhai will play at home against Macau (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
Quite upsetting was Singapore Singapore Slingers' home defeat in a game versus Taiwanese Formosa D. 77-73. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Tevin Glass fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Formosa D. will meet Hong Kong ELL on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Singapore Slingers will play against Westports MD (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in Saigon. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Indonesian CLS Knights (0-1) to Vietnamese Saigon Heat (1-0) 82-80 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of TreVon Hughes who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
