Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions land Trey Gilder, ex Panteras - Sep 15, 2018

Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (D1) tabbed 33-year old American power forward Trey Gilder (206-100kg-85, college: Northwestern State). He played in the summer at Panteras in Venezuelan LPB league. In 13 games he averaged impressive 26.5ppg, 6.2rpg, 4.1apg and 1.1spg. Gilder helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals. He can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Player of the Year, Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Imported Player of the Year and selected to 1st Team. He also played for Rafael Barias (TBS) in league where in 9 games he had very remarkable stats: 18.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1bpg. The other team Gilder played shortly was Panteras (also in LPB). He contributed to his team winning the regular season and make it to the semifinals. A very impressive season as he was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Player of the Year, Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Imported Player of the Year and selected to 1st Team.
In 2008 Gilder was drafted by Colorado 14ers (D-League) in second round (31st overall).
He attended Northwestern State and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Gilder has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He won D-League Southwest Division championship title in 2009.
Gilder is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in eight different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. Gilder has played previously professionally in Australia (Kings), Croatia, Dominican Rep., Mexico, NBA (Utah Jazz), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce and Westchester Knicks) and Dominican Republic (Caneros Del Este, Dosa and JH Rodriguez).
