There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in ASEAN League. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Round 15 in ASEAN League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Nanhai where host Chinese Chongson (12-5) beat league's leader Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (12-5) 87-76 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The best player for the winners was American center Justin Howard (209-81, college: Mercer) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-92, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 26 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Filipino-German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-89, college: Hawaii) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Chongson have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Hong Kong ELL. Hong Kong ELL lost third consecutive game. Hong Kong ELL will play next round against Westports MD trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Chongson will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Hong Kong ELL on the road.
The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (12-5) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Thailand Mono Vampire (13-6) 119-111. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 12-6 record before this meeting. It was a good game for American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Samuel Deguara contributed with 27 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Tyler Lamb (196-91, college: Long Beach St.) answered with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals for Hong Kong ELL. Defending Thailand champion keeps a position of league leader. Hong Kong ELL lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Chongson. Mono Vampire will play against Westports MD (#8) in Kuala Lumpur in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hong Kong ELL will play at home against the league's second-placed Chongson (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Manila. Local Alab Pilipinas (12-6) outscored 6th ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (10-8) 126-100 on Wednesday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Justin Brownlee who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Michael Williams with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alab Pilipinas maintains fourth place with 12-6 record. Saigon Heat at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Alab Pilipinas will meet at home CLS Knights (#7) in the next round. Saigon Heat will play against Singapore Slingers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 15 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Singapore S. defeated Formosa D. in a road game 87-69. Saigon H. beat Westports MD at home 115-103. Chongson destroyed Formosa D. on the opponent's court 105-83. CLS Knights outscored Westports MD in a home game 87-68.



Formosa D. - Singapore S. 69-87

There was no surprise in Changhua City where 9th ranked Taiwanese Formosa D. (1-18) was defeated by fifth ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (11-8) 87-69 on Sunday. Singapore Slingers dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Formosa D.'s 34. Singapore Slingers forced 20 Formosa D. turnovers and outrebounded them 43-24 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks. Thailand Alfred Mandani helped adding 30 points and 7 steals. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Salvadorean-American center Ronnie Aguilar (216-87, college: CS Dominguez H.) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Formosa D.'s coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Singapore Slingers maintains fifth place with 11-8 record. Formosa D. lost their fifteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Singapore Slingers will meet Saigon Heat (#6) on the road in the next round. Formosa D. will play against Hong Kong ELL and hope to win that game.

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (10-8) defeated at home 8th ranked Malaysian Westports MD (5-13) 115-103 on Sunday. Saigon Heat forced 22 Westports MD turnovers. It was a great evening for American-Nigerian power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Filipino-American guard Michael Williams (188-91, college: CS Fullerton) helped adding 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Chris Eversley (201-91, college: Cal Poly - SLO) scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saigon Heat maintains sixth place with 10-8 record. Westports MD lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Saigon Heat will meet at home higher ranked Singapore Slingers (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westports MD will play against Hong Kong ELL and hope to secure a win.

Chongson made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Chongson had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a great evening for American-Filipino guard Mikh McKinney (184-92, college: Sacramento St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American guard Anthony Tucker (193-89, college: MSU Moorhead) helped adding 26 points. Four Chongson players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Cameron Forte (201-93, college: Portland St.) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and Salvadorean-American center Ronnie Aguilar (216-87, college: CS Dominguez H.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Formosa D.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Chongson. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hong Kong ELL. Formosa D. lost their fifteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Chongson will meet Hong Kong ELL (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Formosa D. will play against Hong Kong ELL (#3) and hope to win that game.

Mono Vampire outrebounded Hong Kong ELL 40-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Hong Kong ELL was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) who led his team to a victory with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Maltese center Samuel Deguara (223-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Saigon Heat's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. CLS Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Westports MD's 40. They outrebounded Westports MD 57-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American-Israeli point guard Freddie Goldstein (178-88, college: S.Alabama) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) helped adding 11 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists. CLS Knights' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Chris Eversley (201-91, college: Cal Poly - SLO) with 23 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Joshua Munzon (191-95, college: CS Los Angeles) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. CLS Knights moved-up to seventh place. Westports MD lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. CLS Knights will meet higher ranked Alab Pilipinas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westports MD will play against Hong Kong ELL (#3) and hope to secure a win.
