Singapore S. defeated Valientes 97-87 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Valientes. They outrebounded Valientes 43-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up and scored 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center CJ Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 24 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Valientes players scored in double figures. Singapore S. maintains fourth place with 9-5 record. Valientes at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. It was a key game for the second position in the league. HK Eastern outrebounded NS Matrix 51-32 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Canadian center Chris McLaughlin (208, college: Victoria) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Croatian-Australian swingman Dominic Gilbert (198, college: UBC, agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Four HK Eastern players scored in double figures. Heat have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Vietnamese champion maintains first place with 12-3 record. Louvre S. lost thirteenth consecutive game.
