ASEAN League round 12 best performance: Renaldo Balkman (by Hoops Agents)

Puerto Rican-Filipino Forward Renaldo Balkman (201-F-1984) put on an amazing game in the last round for Zamboanga, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 38-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat HK Eastern (#3, 9-4) 71-65. Thanks to this victory Zamboanga moved-up to the 6th position in ASEAN League. Zamboanga is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. Balkman just recently signed at Zamboanga, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Renaldo Balkman averages just after three games 26.7ppg and 13.3rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young French Alioune Tew (204-C-1992) of Louvre S.. Tew had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 23 rebounds. Bad luck as Louvre S. lost that game 74-87 to slightly higher-ranked Macau (#5, 7-7). Louvre S. managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Louvre S. managed to get this year. Tew is one of the most experienced players at Louvre S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-G/F-1996, agency: Haylett Sports) of Singapore S. (#4). Barkley scored 26 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Barkley's great performance Singapore S. lost 68-71 to #1 ranked Saigon Heat. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Singapore S. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Barkley has a great season in ASEAN League. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.4ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 10.7rpg (7th best) and assists with 6.4apg (2nd best). He also has 2.1spg and FGP: 66.1%.
