Kentrell Barkley claims ASEAN League Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Kentrell Barkley (195-G/F-1996, agency: Haylett Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for Singapore S. and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 26-year old swingman had the game-high 37 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for Singapore S. in his team's victory, helping them to edge out NS Matrix (#4, 2-2) 84-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Singapore S. maintains the 3rd position in ASEAN League . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Singapore S. will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Barkley had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Singapore S., being already a very valuable addition to the team. East Carolina University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Barkley is in league's top in points (3rd best: 27.3ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.7apg) and averages solid 65.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young French center Alioune Tew (204-C-1992) of Louvre S.. Tew impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as Louvre S. lost that game 94-108 to Zamboanga (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Tew is one of the most experienced players at Louvre S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 30.0ppg (#1). He also registered 22.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Antonio Hester (198-F-1990) of Zamboanga (#5). Hester got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . He was a key player of Zamboanga, leading his team to a 108-94 easy win against Louvre S. (1-2). The chances of Zamboanga not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hester could try to bring Zamboanga's a little bit higher in the standings. Hester has individually a great season in ASEAN League. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.7ppg (5th best), rebounds with 11.7rpg (8th best) and assists with 3.7apg (9th best).
