Rashad Woods
Al Wasl Dubai (D1) landed 31-year old American (has also Bahraini passport) swingman Rashad Woods (197-100kg-86, college: Kent State). He played in the summer at Ostioneros de Guaymas in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 46 games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.7apg. Woods helped them to make it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican CIBACOPA Honorable Mention and to the All-Star Game. The last season Woods played at Al Ittihad (SBL) in Saudi Arabian league.
He won IBL championship title in 2010.
Woods is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on four different continents (Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America). Woods has played previously professionally in Cyprus, Kuwait (Al Qadsia), Qatar (Al Sadd and Qatar Sports Club), Tunisia (U.S. Monastir), Saudi Arabia (Al Ansar, Al Nahda and Al Fateh), Peru (Real Club), ABA (Houston R.S.) and IBA (Schenectady L.).
He attended Kent State until 2009 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
Woods' game is described as: Rashad Woods is a very Strong G/F, an athletic player that has a mid range game, 3 point shooting threat, and strong penetrator that can finish extremely well at the basket. He is a good defender and he can defend 1-4 positions. He plays the game the way it's supposed to be played, hard and all out, on both ends and with a high IQ. At 6'6" he is a high flyer that loves to dunk and rebound. Great character on and off the court - a leader.
