Globalport Batang Pier (PBA) landed 31-year old American forward Shawn Taggart (207-104kg-85, college: Memphis). He started the season at Al Sharjah in UAE D1 league. The last season Taggart played at Al Jaysh (D1) in Qatari league. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. It was a very successful season in his career as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Forward of the Year and selected to 1st Team.
The previous (2014) summer Taggart played at Heilongjiang Zhaozhou Feng Shen (NBL) in Chinese league. In 5 games he averaged impressive 31.2ppg, 11.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0spg in 2014 season.
In 2012 (three years after he left the college) Taggart was drafted by Springfield Armor (D-League) in fifth round (78th overall).
He attended University of Memphis until 2009 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball. Taggart won Balkan League championship title in 2013.
He is a very experienced player. Taggart has played also professionally in Israel (Galil Gilboa and Ironi Nahariya), Spain (Caceres Basket and UCAM Murcia), Turkey (TED Istanbul), Ukraine (Dnipro), D-League (Santa Cruz Warriors and Springfield A.) and China (Shanxi Zhongyu and Henan).
