The 27th Dubai International Basketball Championship returns as one of the events basketball lovers do not want to miss. Structured by the UAE Basketball Association under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, challenging teams in the event comprise of UAE's national team and Al Ahli Dubai, along with six other teams who will be competing to lift the winner's trophy.

Dubai will witness another top-level basketball competition with the staging of the 27th Dubai International Basketball Tournament at Al Ahli Club on February 13-20, with the participate of nine teams from Six counties: UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, USA and Lebanon.

The nine teams are divided into two groups as follows:

Group A: Sagesse Lebanon (Fly Emirates), Zamalek Egypt (Sama), UAE National Team (Dubai airport), Club African Tunisia (Oris Hotels)

Group B: , Al Ahly UAE , Ittihad Libya (Del valle), Sporting Egypt (Karkawy group, )And1 USA and The Etoile Sportive du Sahel (Dubai Duty free)

The Macedonian Basketball Federation named the experienced 53 years old coach Jordanco Davitkov to be the new head coach of Macedonia senior NT, he will replaces the Serbian coach Dragan Raca who coached the national team during last summer. Al Wasl Dubai (D1) tabbed 31-year old American forward Travis Gabbidon (201-86, college: UTSA). He started the season at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL league. The last season Gabbidon played at Al Shaab. Among other achievements his team made it to the ABA Semifinals in 2014. Gabbidon received also Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Honorable Mention award back in 2013. He is a very experienced player.
