Bahrain stayed on the winning track at Arabian Gulf Cup. They claimed the second win in a row at the tournament. Bahrain overcame UAE at the Zain Basketball Arena. Ahmed Al-Dirazi stepped up with 20 points to lead the charge.
Bahrain led from start to finish. They dominated in every facet of the game. The margin would go as deep as 24 points in the second half as Bahrain coasted to the victory. Mohammed Hassan (194-F/G-80) provided 16 points for the winners. Ahmed Malallah (188-F-71) netted 12 points, while CJ Giles contributed 9 in the victory. Rashed Al Zaabi (189-G-88) answered with 18 points for UAE. Ebrahim Khalfan and Qais Alshabebi (200-F-91) netted 16 points each in the losing effort.

Al Wasl Dubai (D1) landed 31-year old American (has also Bahraini passport) swingman Rashad Woods (197-100kg-86, college: Kent State). He played in the summer at Ostioneros de Guaymas in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 46 games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.7apg. Woods helped them to make it to the semifinals. Homenetmen Beirut (Pepsi LBL) added to their roster 32-year old American swingman Sam Young (198-100kg-85, college: Pittsburgh). He played last season at Ahli Shabab in UAE D1 league. The previous (2016) summer Young was tested by Guizhou in Chinese NBL where in three games he recorded very impressive stats: 25.3ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.3apg in 2016 season. An Nahl Sharjah (D1) added to their roster 24-year old American forward James Kelly (201-109kg-93, college: Marshall). He played last season at ET Land in South Korean KBL league.
