Al Wasl finished Group B with 1-2 record at the 32nd GCC Clubs Basketball Championship. The team from the United Arab Emirates became second in the group.
On May 4th Al Wasl beat Al-Ittihad from Saudi Arabia 76:60. The first quarter ended 28-20 for Al Wasl, who maintained momentum to clinch a 48-27 lead at half-time. Al Wasl also won the third period 20-16 and captured the victory by 16 points.
In Day 2 Al Nizwa overcame Al Wasl 80:77. The team from Oman started with 23:17 and produced a 24-18 surge in the second frame. Moreover they dominated the third quarter 18-9, while Al Wasl managed to reduce to three points at the end.
Al-Hala from Bahrain beat Al Wasl 98:80 at the end of the group Stage. The winners finished the group with undefeated 3-0 record.

Al Shaab Sharjah (D1) added to their roster experienced 36-year old Croatian center Bruno Sundov (221-119kg-80). He played last season at Al Ahli in Bahrain Premier League. Sundov managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year. He also played that season for Petrochimi (Superleague) in Iran. In 1998 Sundov was drafted by Dallas Mavericks (NBA) in second round (35th overall). He reached the finalist of Bahrain last season. Al Naser signs Greg Mangano, ex Kangoeroes !! - 15 days ago

Al Naser Dubai (D1) signed 27-year old American power forward Greg Mangano (208-109kg-89, college: Yale). He played last season at Kangoeroes in Belgian Euromillions League. In 30 games he had 14.7ppg and 7.0rpg. The previous (14-15) season Mangano played at Kauhajoen Karhu in Finnish Korisliiga where in 47 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.8ppg, 10.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.5bpg. Christian Burns (ex Al Wasl) joins Brescia - 1 month ago

Germani Basket Brescia (Serie A) agreed terms with 31-year old American forward Christian Burns (203-108kg-85, college: Philadelphia). He played last season at Al Wasl in UAE D1 league. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The previous (14-15) season Burns played at CEZ Nymburk in Czech Republic NBL.
