Mongolia - Turkmenistan 90:85

Mongolia entered the preliminary round of Asian Games. They outgunned Turkmenistan in the Qualifying game to reach Group E. They will now face China, DPR Korea, Jordan, Uzbekistan and South Korea in the next stage of the tournament.
Mongolia surged ahead right from the start. They eked out a 27:24 lead after a high-scoring first quarter. Turkmenistan adjusted their defense in the second term. They erased the deficit and drew things level at 46. However Mongolia speeded up in the third quarter. They outscored Turkmenistan 24:19 in the term establishing a 5-point advantage. The teams traded baskets in the final quarter with neither side able to dominate. Mongolia proved calmer in the dying seconds and snatched a tough win at the end. Sedbazar Shinen (191-F-81) scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead Mongolia. Ikhbayar Ganbaatar (180-G-83) added 15 points, 6 assists and 4 boards in the win. Aleksandr Pashkov (191-G-85) replied with 25 points for Turkmenistan. Toyli Bayriyev (188-G-84) finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss.

Turkmenistan celebrate 3x3 title - 7 months ago
Turkmenistan celebrated 3x3 international tournament title at home court. In the final they beat another representative from the country 21-12. The players who contributed in the win were Toyli Bayriev, Merdan Hodzhamedov, Aleksandr Pashkov (193-G-85) and Maksim Otbozina. Kyrgyzstan ended up at the third place. The total of 16 teams represented 8 countries at the tournament from Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and home Turkmenistan.   [read more]

Asia Club Championship: Duhok rally past Belent for Bronze - 5 Years ago
Duhok - Belent 73:58 Duhok finished their Asia Club Championship on a high note. The Iraqi team overcame Belent to clinch the third position at the tourney. Jenero Gorgiss (185-G/F-82) stepped up with 26 points to lead the charge. Duhok posted a narrow 20:17 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The Iraqi team stretched the gap in the second quarter. Asia Club Championship: Riyadi storm past Belent - 5 Years ago
Riyadi - Belent 116:65 Riyadi had no problems reaching the Final at the Asia Club Championship. The hosts cruised past Belent in the first semifinal tonight. Amir Saoud (188-G-91) came up with 45 points and 6 rebounds to lead the hosts. Riyadi left their opponents far behind after the opening quarter. The Lebanese team went on a 32:8 run in the first period. Riaydi maintained the advantage throughout the second stanza. The hosts accounted for a 61:27 halftime lead   [read more]
