Mono Vampire - Mad Goat 93-83

Mono Vampire rallied past Mad Goat in the opener. It looked good early as Mad Goat took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mono Vampire had a 26-22 second period charge getting the lead and Mad Goat was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 83-93. Mono Vampire dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Mad Goat's 34. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import center Reginald Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 18 points and 17 rebounds. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Mono Vampire's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bahamas center Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Stealth Sport) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Filipino guard Taylor Statham (198-92, college: CS San Bernar.) added 16 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Mad Goat in the defeat.

Hanoi Buffaloes upset Mono Thew for 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. The guests trailed by 15 points after three quarters before their 41-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hanoi B. outrebounded Mono Thew 50-26 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Steven Thomas (204-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 23 rebounds for the winners and American-Filipino power forward Marcus Douthit (210-80, college: Providence) chipped in 22 points and 15 rebounds. At the losing side American center Anthony McClain (213-88, college: Cincinnati) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Filipino guard Patrick Cabahug (186) scored 26 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Hanoi Buffalos (VBA) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old American ex-international power forward Jordan Collins (208-110kg-82, college: North Carolina State). He played last summer at Thai General Equipment in Thailand TBL league. In 21 games he had 13.6ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.2apg. SeaHorses Mikawa (B League) inked 27-year old American forward Daniel Orton (208-116kg-90, college: Kentucky). He played in the summer at Hitech in Thailand TBL league. Orton managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 19 TBL games he averaged 14.6ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg.
