Mad Goat - TGE 80-71

Mad Goat rallied past TGE to seal their semifinal appearance. TGE was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 30-16 charge of Mad Goat, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to TGE's 32. They outrebounded TGE 59-45 including a 42-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for Bahamas center Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Stealth Sport) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. American Frederick Jones accounted for 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Mad Goat players scored in double figures. Filipino point guard Jeff Viernes (173-90) came up with 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American forward Nahshon George (206-93, college: Idaho, agency: Haylett Sports) added 24 points and 15 rebounds respectively for TGE in the defeat.

Hitech - Hanoi B. 80-89

Hanoi upset Hitech on the road to advance into the next round. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 38-27 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hanoi B. made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Hitech turnovers. Strangely Hitech outrebounded Hanoi B. 50-37 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American point guard Matt Van-Pelt (178-91, college: Spring Arbor) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 8 assists. American-Filipino power forward Marcus Douthit (210-80, college: Providence) helped adding 29 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hanoi B. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Kwame Alexander (201-90, college: CS San Bernar.) with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Avery Scharer (188-86, college: Shoreline CC) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Hitech's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

Hanoi Buffalos (VBA) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old American ex-international power forward Jordan Collins (208-110kg-82, college: North Carolina State). He played last summer at Thai General Equipment in Thailand TBL league. In 21 games he had 13.6ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.2apg. SeaHorses Mikawa (B League) inked 27-year old American forward Daniel Orton (208-116kg-90, college: Kentucky). He played in the summer at Hitech in Thailand TBL league. Orton managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 19 TBL games he averaged 14.6ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg.
