American Center Reginald Johnson (208-C-89, agency: Three Eye Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Mono Vampire, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 25 rebounds, while his team edged out Hitech (6-2) 98-95. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Mono Vampire is placed at 3rd position in Thailand TBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Mono Vampire will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Johnson turned to be Mono Vampire's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Miami, Florida star has very solid stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (7th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 14.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.6bpg and 50.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American James Tyler (218-C-88, agency: HMS) of league's leader Mad Goat. Tyler had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Mad Goat to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Dunkin' Raptors (#7, 2-6) 111-82. This victory allowed Mad Goat to move up to 1st position in the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 7 matches. Tyler is one of the most experienced players at Mad Goat and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Former star Tyler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Michael Earl (203-F-85) of Dunkin' Raptors (#7). Earl scored 22 points and grabbed nineteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Earl's great performance Dunkin' Raptors lost 82-111 to the higher-ranked Mad Goat (#1, 7-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Dunkin' Raptors can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Earl he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Earl has individually a great season in Thailand. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.1ppg (4th best), rebounds with 12.8rpg (8th best) and assists with 3.1apg (8th best). He also has 1.9bpg, FGP: 53.3% and 3PT: 42.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nahshon George (206-F-93) of TGE - 27 points and 18 rebounds
5. Travis Hyman (213-C-87) of Hitech - 22 points and 17 rebounds
6. Kenneth Acibar (193-F) of Adroit - 27 points and 6 rebounds
7. Maurice Shaw) of Kabayan - 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Steven Thomas (204-C/F-81) of Hanoi B. - 14 points and 15 rebounds
9. Avery Scharer (188-G-86) of Hitech - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists
10. Tavarion Nix (201-SF) of Kabayan - 16 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
