Steven
Thomas
35-year old Steven Thomas (204-C/F-81) put on an amazing game in the last round for Hanoi B. and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 24 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Kabayan (#6, 4-4) 69-83. Hanoi B. maintains the 9th position in Thailand league. Hanoi B. is currently ranked second from the bottom. But it was their 5th lost game this season out of 8 games. Thomas just recently signed at Hanoi B., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Middle Tennessee State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thomas leads league in rebounds with 16.1rpg. Thomas is in league's top in and averages solid 1.9bpg and 52.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Singletary (198-F-88, agency: Three Eye Sports) of Mono Vampire. He is American forward in his first season at Mono Vampire. In the last game Singletary recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Mono Vampire cruised to a 106-94 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Dunkin' Raptors (#7, 2-6). This victory allowed Mono Vampire to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Singletary is one of the most experienced players at Mono Vampire and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.9ppg (#7). He also registered 11.4 boards per game. Former Texas Tech University star Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Michael Earl (203-F-85) of Dunkin' Raptors (#7). Earl scored 25 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Earl's great performance Dunkin' Raptors lost 94-106 to the higher-ranked Mono Vampire (#3, 6-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Dunkin' Raptors can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Earl he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Earl has individually a great season in Thailand. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (5th best) and assists with 3.1apg (8th best). He also has 2.1bpg, FGP: 51.5% and 3PT: 41.4%.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
