The most interesting game of round 6 in the TBL was a home defeat of 4th ranked Mono Vampire (4-2) to third ranked Mad Goat (5-1) 97-90. It ended the four-game winning streak of Mono Vampire. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 53-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mad Goat dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Mono Vampire's 40. Mad Goat forced 22 Mono Vampire turnovers and outrebounded them 59-44 including a 26-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bahamas center Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Stealth Sport) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Taylor Statham (198-92, college: CS San Bernar.) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Reginald Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL, agency: Three Eye Sports) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mad Goat moved-up to second place, which they share with Mono Thew. Defending champion Mono Vampire keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Mad Goat is looking forward to face Adroit (#8) in Singapore in the next round where they are favorite. Mono Vampire will play against Dunkin' Raptors (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

Even a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds by American-Guyanese Travis George (206-85, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Adroit. TGE moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hanoi B. Adroit at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with PEA. TGE will play against bottom-ranked PEA (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Adroit will play against the league's second-placed Mad Goat in Nakorn Phantom and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Bangkok. Second ranked host Mono Thew (5-1) defeated Hanoi B. (3-3) 82-74. The best player for the winners was Patrick Sanders who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Marcus Douthit who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mono Thew have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Hitech, which they share with Mad Goat. Loser Hanoi B. dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with TGE. Mono Thew will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hanoi B. will play against Kabayan (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. 7th ranked Dunkin' Raptors (2-4) played at the court of eighth ranked Kabayan (2-4). Kabayan did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 93-73 on Sunday. American Tavarion Nix (201, college: Midwestern St.) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Maurice Shaw chipped in 20 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Five Kabayan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Michael Earl (203-85, college: Utah St.) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and James Matinez scored 16 points. Dunkin' Raptors' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Kabayan moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Dunkin' Raptors. Kabayan will face Hanoi B. (#9) at home in the next round.

TGE - Adroit 108-93

Very important is a road loss of Adroit (0-6) against sixth ranked TGE (3-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Adroit was defeated by TGE in 108-93. The game was mostly controlled by TGE. TBL top team - Hitech (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked PEA (0-6) in Bangkok 91-78. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Hitech's pressure prevailed and they won that period 27-20 extending their advantage to 13 points. They also forced 19 PEA turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for center Kwame Alexander (201-90, college: CS San Bernar.) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Avery Scharer (188-86, college: Shoreline CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Scharer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. Hitech's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Anthony January (203, college: CS San Bernar.) replied with a double-double by scoring 48 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and forward Rayshawn Goins (198, college: JMU) added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for PEA. Hitech have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. PEA at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Hitech's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Mad Goat in Nakorn Phantom and it will be for sure the game of the week. The game between Top Four teams took place in Bangkok. Second ranked host Mono Thew (5-1) defeated Hanoi B. (3-3) 82-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-22. But Hanoi B. won second period 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Hanoi B. outrebounded Mono Thew 49-32 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. SeaHorses Mikawa (B League) inked 27-year old American forward Daniel Orton (208-116kg-90, college: Kentucky). He played in the summer at Hitech in Thailand TBL league. Orton managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 19 TBL games he averaged 14.6ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg.
