Thailand secured their Level I spot for another season. They overcame Hong Kong in the Qualifying Round to stay in the top division. Supira Kianbut (175-C-94) came up with 16 points and 12 rebounds to pace the winners.

Supira Kianbut (175-C-94) came up with 16 points and 12 rebounds to pace the winners. Hong Kong started the game aggressively. They registered a 14:12 lead after ten minutes. But Thailand paid much stress to defence in the second quarter and held Hong Kong to only 7 points. Thailand surged ahead to pile up a 30:21 halftime lead. Thailand kept Hong Kong at bay throughout the third frame. They registered a 12-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Hong Kong fought bravely until the final buzzer but could not avoid the loss at the end. Panparin Iam-U-Tama (162-G-95) had 13 points, while Varitta Srijunvong (168-F-97) added 12 points for the winners. Wong Ka Yee (172-F-94) answered with 18 points and 9 boards for Hong Kong. Li Tsz Kwan (169-F-95) netted 12 points and 9 caroms in the loss.

China remains undefeated at the U18 Asia Championship. The team won over Thailand 81:37 to finish Group A with 5-0 record. Thailand could not make it to the Semifinals as they finished 5th with 1-4 record.
China started with 19-10 and added massive 20-9 in the second frame. The favorites dominated also the second half and never slowed down. They won the third period 22-14 and led 28 points after 3 quarters
