Thailand Slammers - Singapore Slingers 65:62

Thailand Slammers opened win count in the ASEAN League season. They held off Singapore Slingers at home court to climb at 1-3 record in the ladder. Christien Charles (216-F/C-81, college: Villanova) delivered 16 points and 16 rebounds to pace the winners.
The Slammers stayed in charge in the opening quarter. They registered a 22:19 lead ten minutes into the game. The hosts maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They arrived at halftime up by four points 38:34. The gap grew in the third quarter. The Slammers held their opponents to 12 points and extended the margin to as many as 9 points 55:46. The Slingers though revived the intrigue. Oh hit a three-pointer to put the Singapore team within one with just over a minutes remaining. However Froilan Baguion (170-G-80) hit two free throws late in regulation and sealed the victory for the hosts. Froilan Baguion tallied 15 points and 13 assists, while Michael Earl (203-F-85, college: Utah St.) netted 10 points for the winning team. Jeffers Kyle (207-C-85, college: Oregon St.) answered with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Slingers. Cabatu Santiago chipped in 13 points in the loss.

Mono Vampire triumphed in TBL 2016 Finals after a 75-70 win over Hitech. In the decisive third game the third team of the regular season overcame the league-leader by 5 points to take the trophy. Mono Vampire managed to win the first period 22-16 and the third one 21-16 that was enough for the total success. Mono Vampire tied the Final series against Hitech as they grabbed a valuable 82-80 win in Game 2. Vampire won the first period 23-22 and added a confident 18-11 surge in the second quarter. Hitech replied with two narrow wins in the second half, but could not win the game. Lamar Corconte stepped up with 20 and 10 rebounds, while Avanti posted 13. Hitech celebrate the win in Final opener as they grabbed a 92-87 win over Vampire. Hitech scored 21 points in the first and the same number of points in the second frame to ensure a 42-37 halftime advantage. Mono Vampire replied with a 20-17 rally in the third quarter, while Hitech closed the game with 33-30.
