Thailand Slammers - Singapore Slingers 65:62

Thailand Slammers opened win count in the ASEAN League season. They held off Singapore Slingers at home court to climb at 1-3 record in the ladder. Christien Charles (216-F/C-81, college: Villanova) delivered 16 points and 16 rebounds to pace the winners.
The Slammers stayed in charge in the opening quarter. They registered a 22:19 lead ten minutes into the game. The hosts maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They arrived at halftime up by four points 38:34. The gap grew in the third quarter. The Slammers held their opponents to 12 points and extended the margin to as many as 9 points 55:46. The Slingers though revived the intrigue. Oh hit a three-pointer to put the Singapore team within one with just over a minutes remaining. However Froilan Baguion (170-G-80) hit two free throws late in regulation and sealed the victory for the hosts. Froilan Baguion tallied 15 points and 13 assists, while Michael Earl (203-F-85, college: Utah St.) netted 10 points for the winning team. Jeffers Kyle (207-C-85, college: Oregon St.) answered with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Slingers. Cabatu Santiago chipped in 13 points in the loss.

American Frederick Jones had an amazing evening in the last round for Mad Goat, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 16. The player had a double-double of 35 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Dunkin' Raptors (#8, 5-11) 83-82. Mad Goat maintains the 4th position in Thailand TBL. There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in TBL. The most exciting game of round 16 in the TBL took place in Bangkok. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Hitech (13-3) to first ranked Mono Vampire (14-2) 108-105 in the game for the first place.
