Philippines defended their SEABA Cup title. They knocked down Thailand at SEABA Cup last round to clinch the top position. The victory also punched the ticket to Fiba Asia Championship in Tokyo for Philippines. Marcus Douthit (210-C/F-80, agency: Edge Sports, college: Providence) finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds to pace the winners.
Philippines jumped to an early lead and secured a 22:8 advantage at the first break. Philippines extended the margin in the second quarter. They accumulated a 26-point buffer at the interval 41:15. Thailand and Philippines traded baskets in the third quarter as the visitors stayed in charge. The hosts narrowed the gap at 17-point mark midway through the final quarter but Philippines bounced back late in the game sealing a comfortable win at the end. Chico Lanete (183-G-79) delivered 12 points for Philippines. Christopher Tiu (178-PG-85) had 11 points for the winners. Wutipong Dasom answered with 16 points for Thailand. Sukhdavb Ghogar netted 12 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

SeaHorses Mikawa (B League) inked 27-year old American forward Daniel Orton (208-116kg-90, college: Kentucky). He played in the summer at Hitech in Thailand TBL league. Orton managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 19 TBL games he averaged 14.6ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg. Mono Vampire - Hitech 117-103 Mono Vampire outgunned Hitech in the third game of the championship series to claim TBL title. Mono Vampire made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game.
